# Visibox 6 Full Tour: Every Window and Setting

> Visibox 6 still looks like a setlist taped to the stage. Underneath, a Song can play several Clips at once, run its own timeline, show lyrics, and spread across multiple screens. This tour covers all of it.

You open Visibox 6 and the Controller looks familiar: Songs down the page, Clips inside them, the output preview along the bottom. Then you notice a small icon in the corner of every Song, a record button in the Control Bar, and a Settings window with sections you've never seen.

This tour goes through all of it, from the Control Bar to the last setting. It runs a little over an hour and a quarter, and you don't have to watch it in one sitting. Each section below links to its spot in the video.

### The Controller

The Controller is laid out like a setlist, big enough to read from a laptop propped a few feet away. Each Song is a palette of Clips: video, image, color, camera (HDMI capture and now NDI), Visualizer, and, new in 6, audio. The Control Bar along the top holds the transport, search (⌘F, or Ctrl+F on Windows), the background Clip, a switch between multichannel, stereo, and mono audio, a CPU meter, a session timer, and a clock. The tour starts there [at 0:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=14s), and the Clip types follow [at 10:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=651s).

### Several Clips at once

Visibox used to play one Clip at a time. In 6, each Song has a Poly Mode that decides how playing Clips share the screen: Mono (the classic behavior), Blend, Mosaic, Horizontal or Vertical Stripes, Stack, or Spots. Each Clip also gets a Launch Mode. Trigger plays it on a press, Gate plays it only while you hold the key or pad down, and Toggle starts and stops it on alternate presses. Poly Mode starts [at 14:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=859s), and the Clip Editor, with every setting a Clip can carry, follows [at 16:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=1014s).

### Sound gets its own Clips

Drop a sound file into a Song and Visibox asks whether it should be the Song's audio or a Clip of its own. As a Clip, a stinger or a sound effect sits on a pad next to the video. As Song audio, it plays as a backing track while you switch Clips over it. Drag in a set of numbered stem files and Visibox offers to combine them into one multichannel file, so the drums, the bass, and the backing vocals can each go to their own output. The Song Editor starts [at 26:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=1613s), and audio [at 28:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=1734s).

### The Song Timeline and Lyrics

The Song Timeline lets a Song run itself. Set a tempo and a downbeat, then place Clip changes, MIDI out to other gear, and automation by bars and beats or by time. Lyrics sit alongside, with chord diagrams for guitar, ukulele, or piano, transposition, and a teleprompter or stage-prompt view you can put full screen on its own display. Both are in Beta, so turn on **Settings > General > Enable Beta Features** first. The timeline starts [at 33:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=2027s), and lyrics [at 35:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=2120s).

### Remote, Setlists, and Real-Time Control

Visibox Remote for iOS and Android puts the Controller on a phone or tablet, so the sound person mixing from an iPad can trigger Clips from that same iPad ([38:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=2291s)). Setlists let one Project carry several shows: every Song stays in the Project, and each Setlist picks its own Songs in its own order ([43:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=2584s)). And the control bus in Project Settings is the start of Real-Time Control: name a control, drive it from a MIDI knob, the API, or a Stream Deck dial, and ride a Clip or Effect setting live ([40:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=2452s)).

### Multiple screens, lighting consoles, and the rest of Settings

The Settings window [at 53:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=3219s) is the longest stop on the tour. The canvas spreads your output across multiple screens, in different sizes and with gaps between them if you like, and picks which display gets the Controller or Lyrics in full screen. Lighting console control lets a console run Visibox over sACN or Art-Net. Along the way you'll find MIDI mapping with LED feedback, the Stream Deck plugin, Remote pairing, AI tool connections, Syphon and Spout output, and the flips for rear-projection and ceiling-mounted projectors.

One change to know about if you're coming from Visibox 5: Clips now fire the moment you press them, not when you let go. It's faster under the hand, and it's why you drag a Clip by the small handle along its top. If you'd rather have the old behavior back, turn off **Trigger Clips on Press** in Settings > General.

### Visualizers, Effects, and Overlays

The tour ends in the Visualizers, Effects, and Overlays window [at 1:09:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpQgPJWEewQ&t=4155s). Visualizers are MilkDrop and ISF presets you can audition, tweak, and drag onto a Song. Effects can be written in ISF or plain CSS. Overlays, like a lower third or a corner logo, attach to the whole Project, one Song, or a single Clip. Visualizers and Effects stored in a Project travel with it to another computer.

The tour moves fast on purpose, and several stops already have their own videos: [Sync to Song Position](/news/sync-to-song-position), [media optimization](/news/media-optimization-in-visibox), [multichannel backing tracks](/news/multichannel-backing-tracks), [Stream Deck control](/news/how-to-control-live-visuals-elgato-stream-deck), [MIDI control](/news/midi-video-control-with-visibox), and [a visualizer written by an AI agent](/news/chatgpt-wrote-my-stranger-things-visualizer).
