2.7: Our Most Requested Feature!
Fades! Crossfades! Dissolves! Oh, my!
You asked for it. You got it!
Enable Beta
We’ve just published Visibox 2.7. You’ll now find an option to “Enable Beta Features” in the “Settings” submenu on Mac or “Preferences” on Windows. Select this item to enable experimental and/or cutting-edge new features in Visibox.
Fade Into You
The first of these new beta features is a new option for Clips: fades! When you select a single or multiple Clips in the Controller Window and either right-click on the Clips or select the “Clip” menu, you will find new submenus for “Fade In (Beta)” and “Fade Out (Beta)”. These allow you to set a time from 250 milliseconds up to 8 seconds for each Clip.
When starting or stopping a Clip while no other Clips are playing, these define the time it takes for the Clip to appear or disappear. If there is a background Clip, these define the cross-dissolve time between the background Clip and the triggered Clip.
When a Clip is playing and another Clip is triggered, the triggered Clip’s “Fade In” value defines the cross-dissolve time between the Clips. This means that the previous Clip’s “Fade Out” value will be ignored. But think of it this way: the latest triggered Clip always takes precedence. So if Clip 1 has a no Fade Out value and Clip 2 has a 4-second Fade In value, Clip 1 will continue playing as Clip 2 is triggered and the cross-dissolve happens between the Clips.
For video Clips containing audio tracks, the audio will also fade in, out, and cross-fade using the above rules.
As usual, we’ve tried to make the complicated stuff easy. For the most part, the new fade functionality is intuitive and easy to use.
Fades remain a Beta feature while we ensure it’s as reliable and intuitive as the rest of Visibox. As always, we welcome your feedback!

Fixes, Improvements, and Changes in 2.7
Stream Deck functionality has been overhauled and optimized. Clip thumbnails should now appear faster and more reliably on your Stream Deck.
A bug with audio file importing has been fixed. Media file analysis for audio files has been fixed for the rare case where the media conversion library is corrupted or misconfigured.
Visibox 2.7 drops support for Windows 7/8/8.1. These operating systems are now more than 10 years old and Microsoft no longer supports them. Visibox supports Windows 10 or higher and macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later.
