v1.9: OBS + More File Types
We just published Visibox version 1.9. There are several new features that we’re excited about. We hope you will be too!
OBS Studio Support
If you want to trigger videos, images, or other visuals as part of a live stream, it’s now easier to use Visibox as an input source for OBS Studio. You can use Visibox visuals as a background with your green screen, play Picture in Picture, or let your imagination run wild. You can now set Visibox’s Output window to a specific size or constrain it to a specific aspect ratio. You can also hide the controls at the top of the window, so that these won’t show up in your stream. Then, in OBS, create a Window Capture source and select the window entitled “Visibox” as your source. If you’re triggering Visibox via MIDI or a Stream Deck, you’ll be able to control Visibox even if it’s running in the background.
Media File Conversion
If Visibox does not natively support playback of a file that you’re adding to a project, it will now try to convert it. Conversion can sometimes be slow, but it vastly expands the types of media files that you can use with Visibox. Got an old Flash .flv file? A Mac .aiff audio file? HAP files? Motion JPEG? Just drag ‘em into your project and if they’ll get converted automatically.
Gif Control
Normally animated gif files can’t be controlled in the same way as videos. You cannot pause, restart, or resume them from their last position. This a problem with gifs like the one below. However, now when you add an animated gif (or animated png!) to Visibox, it will be automatically converted to a (smaller and more efficient) video file so that you can control it in the same way as all of your other video clips in Visibox. Exciting!
