Visibox Summer City Pack is a collection of high-definition video loops designed to enhance visual experiences in audiovisual projects, live performances, and art projects. This collection contains seven long, out-of-focus takes shot around New York City in the summer: people crossing Union Square and Washington Square Park, crowds rendered as soft moving color, and two drives through traffic past a blurred wall of taxis, trucks and storefronts.
Everything is shot deliberately out of focus, so faces and signage never resolve. What’s left is motion, color and the shape of a crowd. This is real footage, not generative graphics or animation. Use these loops as visual accompaniment to music, as VJ loops, or as background visuals in a variety of settings. They’re built to set a mood and take a backseat to the main event while still giving people something to look at.
Technical Details
The loops are 1080P h.264-encoded MP4 files without audio, at 24 frames per second. There are seven of them, 8 minutes and 49 seconds of footage in total, and each one runs between 35 seconds and just over two minutes.
These are long takes rather than short cycles. Each one is a single continuous shot with no edits, chosen because it starts and ends on the same kind of motion. Nothing in the frame is in focus, so there’s no sharp detail to give the wrap point away.
Our standard video pack license is here. In short, you can use this content wherever you like. You just can’t redistribute it in its original form.
How To Use
If you’re using Visibox, just drag ’em in! If you’re using VLC, select “Repeat One” from the Play menu. In Quicktime Player, select “Loop” from the View menu. These video loops will also work in most VJ environments. Keep in mind that some players are better at looping than others.
