Visibox 6 The whole show. One app.

Backing tracks, visuals, and lyrics Beta, all on one Song. Several Clips on screen at once, one picture across every display, and cues from your lighting console, MIDI rig, or phone.

⊙ What's new

The four biggest changes.

Several Clips at once

A Song can play multiple Clips at once. Poly Mode decides how they share the screen: blend them, tile them, stack them, or split the frame into stripes and spots. Launch Modes decide what each press does.

Poly Mode →

Multiple screens

Give every projector and display its own slice of one picture, and lay out the rig by dragging. Each screen gets its own position, rotation, and compensation for a hardware wall controller.

Output →

New outputs

Four new outputs, all in Beta: NDI, SDI through a Blackmagic DeckLink card, Syphon on Mac, and Spout on Windows. Or record your show, sound and all, to a video file.

Output →

More controllers

Patch Visibox into a lighting console over sACN or Art-Net. Drive it over OSC, ride Clip and Effect settings from a MIDI fader with Real-Time Control, use the Elgato Stream Deck plugin, or fire Clips from a phone with Visibox Remote.

⊙ For bands

One Song runs everything.

Backing tracks, visuals, lyrics, and the patch changes on your keyboard, all following the same Song.

  • Build more than one running order with Setlists, and switch between them from the Project menu.
  • Paste in a chord sheet (ChordPro, OnSong, Nashville numbers, or plain chords over words) and Visibox puts the lyrics and chords on a screen that faces the band. Tap along to time the lines. Beta
  • A Song Timeline fires Clips and sends MIDI on the Song's own clock, so your keyboard changes patch at the right bar. Beta
  • Poly Mode layers Clips instead of cutting between them, and Audio Clips put stingers and sound effects on pads of their own.
  • Backing tracks can carry multitrack stems, each on its own output. On Windows, multichannel ASIO drives every output on your interface. Beta
  • Hand the visuals to front of house. Visibox Remote, free for iPhone, iPad, and Android with any Pro plan, lets the sound engineer pick Songs, fire Clips, and set the volume from a phone or tablet anywhere on the venue Wi-Fi.
⊙ For lighting designers

Patch Visibox like any other fixture.

Your console runs the video from the same cues as the lights. The show itself stays built in Visibox, where the Songs and Clips live.

  • Visibox patches as one fixture on grandMA, Eos, ChamSys, Hog, Avolites, or QLC+, with a GDTF profile for desks that read GDTF. See Lighting Consoles.
  • Cues pick Songs and Clips, run transport, and ride intensity, volume, and hue over sACN or Art-Net.
  • Send the picture to SDI through a Blackmagic DeckLink card, or across the network with NDI. See Output. Beta
  • Each of your multiple screens gets its own position, rotation, and compensation for a hardware wall controller.
  • Real-Time Control points named Controls at Clip and Effect settings, so a MIDI fader or an OSC message can ride them live.
⊙ For coders and AI makers

Describe a visual. Claude writes the shader.

Visibox has a built-in MCP server, so Claude, Cursor, and other AI assistants can work on your Project in plain language.

  • Ask for a Visualizer and the assistant writes it as an ISF shader. Keep the editor open and watch the code and the preview change as it works. See AI Assistants.
  • New in 6: assistants can also write Song Timelines, build Setlists, and place Overlays.
  • Script anything over the HTTP and WebSocket API or the command line.
  • Control playback, Songs, Clips, and volume over OSC, and subscribe to feedback so your controller can show what Visibox is doing.
  • ISF Effects run beside the CSS Effects, and the rebuilt Effects Editor shows a live preview while you write.
⊙ For VJs

Add Visibox to your rig.

Keep the software you already play. Visibox fires Clips on cue and hands the picture to that software.

  • Syphon on Mac and Spout on Windows send the live output into Resolume, TouchDesigner, VDMX, MadMapper, or OBS, with no cable or capture card. See Output. Beta
  • The ISF shader effects you already have work on Visibox Clips. Stack several Effects on one Clip and tweak them for that Clip alone.
  • Effects can now react to the Visibox mix, a microphone, a line input, or sound from another app.
  • Poly Mode plays multiple Clips at once: Blend, Mosaic, Stack, Horizontal and Vertical Stripes, or Spots.
  • Ride Clip and Effect settings from MIDI knobs or OSC with Real-Time Control.
⊙ For installations

Power on. The show starts.

Visibox can run a space with nobody at the keyboard, and still take orders from the rest of the building.

⊙ For video creators

Perform it live. Keep the recording.

Play your visuals like an instrument, then walk away with the take.

  • The Record button saves what the audience sees, with audio, to a video file. Start now, or arm it to start with the next Clip. See Output.
  • Record the whole canvas or just a region, at 720p, 1080p, 4K, 8K, or a custom size. See Canvas Settings.
  • Send the output straight into OBS with Syphon on Mac or Spout on Windows. Beta
  • Play NDI sources from your network (an NDI camera, another computer, or an app broadcasting NDI) as Camera Clips. Beta
⊙ Also new

And a lot more.

Overlays

A logo or lower-third graphic above everything, for a whole Project, one Song, or one Clip.

In and out points

Play just part of a long video, and build a whole set from one file.

Loop Crossfade

Blends a loop's end back into its start, so the wrap stops reading as a cut.

Wipe and push transitions

Up, down, left, or right, alongside the fade you already know.

Rotate to any angle

Anywhere from 0 to 360 degrees, with snaps at every quarter turn.

Any Clip as background

The Project background can be a video, image, camera, Visualizer, or color.

Reverse, Bounce, Scratch

Out of beta. They now play a full-quality reversed copy, with sound.

Cut, copy, and paste

Move Clips and Songs between Projects. Their media files come along.

MIDI velocity

Hit a pad harder and a video Clip's audio comes in louder.

Redesigned interface

Every window rebuilt on one design. Settings is one window with nine categories, and Undo works there too.

ASIO on Windows Beta

Use every output on your ASIO interface, past the eight channels Windows Sound allows.

Updates in Settings

See your version, read the release notes for a newer one, and check for updates on demand.

⊙ Free Plan

The Free Plan does more in 6.

The limits stay where they were: 5 Songs per Project and 5 Clips per Song. What you can do with those Clips grows.

  • Crossfades between Clips
  • A Background Clip
  • Clip speed and direction
  • Clip end options (the Visibox 5 Free Plan could only loop) and audio end options
  • Effects, Visualizer, and Overlay presets, ready to apply (editing them is Pro)

⊙ Coming from Visibox 5

Your Projects open unchanged.

Visibox 6 is a free update for Pro subscribers, and for Perpetual owners within their two years of updates. A few things work differently.

  • Stream Deck works through the Elgato plugin only. The built-in Stream Deck mode is gone and its layout doesn't carry over, so install the plugin from Settings > Devices before your next show.
  • Clips fire when you press, not when you let go. If you prefer the old feel, turn off Trigger Clips on Press in Settings > General.
  • Some settings have new names. When Clip Ends is now End Action, and a Placeholder Clip is now a Color Clip.
  • If you open a Project in Visibox 5 after saving it in 6 and save it there, Visibox 5 drops everything 6 added (Setlists, Overlays, Poly Mode, and more) without a warning. Work on a copy if you run both.
